Kevin Booth, CEO of Las Vegas-based WestCor Companies, received the Danny B. Parrish Outstanding Leadership Award from the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) at the organization’s annual conference and expo in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 14 to 18.

The award, which was first presented in 2001, recognizes members who inspire and motivate others, have a strong work ethic and the ability to unite diverse sectors in the achievement of common goals. Recipients of this award have helped lead the growth of the CFMA through innovative thinking and initiatives and have also demonstrated leadership skills over 10 or more years of service to the CFMA.

“There’s no other organization that can build a community like the one we have at CFMA, and that’s been a big part of my life for the past 30 years,” Booth said. “The members and staff of CFMA have motivated me to do more than I ever thought I could do, and I’m honored to be among past recipients of the Danny B. Parish Leadership Award, all giants of our industry. ”

Through conferences, educational seminars, and innovative tools and resources, CFMA is recognized as a leader in establishing best practices in construction financial management to minimize risk and improve profitability. Their mission is to create impactful networking and collaboration among construction finance professionals who advance the construction ecosystem.

Booth is part of the construction industry and has been an active member of the CFMA Las Vegas Chapter for nearly 30 years. He was president of the international organization, president of the CFMA Las Vegas chapter, and an alumnus of the CFMA National Mentorship Program and CFMA at Spring Creek, a retreat designed for people who want to excel in the workplace, improve their work-life balance and become successful chapter presidents. Additionally, he is currently a member of the MFDA Executive Committee as the Past President’s Representative and has volunteered for various other projects and working groups including the Finance Committee, Chapter Resources Committee , Conference Program Working Group, Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention, Former Vice Chair Education Steering Committee, Financial Investigations and Benchmarks Committee , of the Leadership Development Task Force and Past Chair of the Membership Sub-Specialty Sub-Committee.

Some of his major accomplishments at CFMA include the creation of the Skilled Trades Committee, which provides resources to contractors and helped create the Leadership Development and Diversity & Inclusion Committees, and the merger with the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (ICCIFP) to bring professional certification in-house. His tenure as president also marked a digital transformation for the association, connecting members through new video series, podcasts and playlists.

“I’ve been a member for 38 years and I think Kevin has clearly had one of the toughest years as president in his history,” said Herb Brownett CCIFP and 2017 recipient of the Danny B. Parrish Award for Outstanding Leadership, which was presented the award to Booth. “He’s spent his entire tenure under the COVID umbrella, but he’s found many ways to reach members in new ways through ‘Chat with the Chairman’ (videos) and one of his most entertaining videos titled “38 Questions with Kevin Booth”.
